Situation

Current is a Chicago-based nonprofit innovation hub focused on advancing water research, technology, and stewardship. In 2024, they partnered with RoboToaster to help communicate the real-world impact of their initiatives through storytelling and video, in support of their mission.

Challenge

As Current pursued major funding opportunities, including support from the National Science Foundation, they needed to clearly show the real-world value of their work: turning complex, technical projects into compelling, human stories that inspire confidence and drive investment.

Solution

Highlighting people, programs, and innovations–from H2Now Chicago River monitoring to Chicago Water Week and beyond–RoboToaster conceptualizes, captures, and produces suites of videos and short vignettes to showcase Current’s focus on the intersection of technology, sustainability, and public good.

Results

Our collaboration has helped Current strengthen its funding efforts and reinforce its reputation as a trusted voice in water innovation through narrative-driven video.
