The Barn

Project Overview

The Barn is Chicago's premiere hockey bar, located just a few blocks from the United Center. It's a great local spot where sports enthusiasts and hockey fans come together to celebrate their love for the game.

Challenge

In 2023, the bar and existing space were overhauled, and there were a variety of new surfaces that presented opportunities for spacial branding. The largest surface, located on the side of the building, was 3 stories in the air and was meant to look like a vintage sign that had been there for years.

Solution

We painted the Original 6 NHL logos on a concrete floor, the name of the bar 3 stories in the air, and signage for the golf simulator "The Gilmore Room". The largest piece was a 15' x 20' mural inspired by vintage advertisements, and intentionally weathered to fit the retro theme of the space.

Results

Visibility of the bar increased, and the branding is now visible from hundreds of feet away down Ogden Ave. Once inside the bar, patrons can easily find the Gilmore Room and step all over the Original 6 NHL Logos.
